Allen Gamble and Terry Hoitz are the NYPD detectives. They are considered to be the worst policemen in New York, and due to some fails in past they have to do routine paper job now instead of investigating the cases of great importance. Actually they are not so bad or unlucky, they are just the other guys.

But one day the fortune seems to smile on them. They received the seemingly innocuous case, which no other NYPD detective wanted to touch. The case, promising nothing interesting or challenging, appeared to be the greatest crime to investigate.

Gamble and Hoitz are ready to help their heroes with this crime – officers Danson and Highsmith, who are the acclaimed celebrities not only in their police office, but in whole New York City. The case is connected with shady business of capitalist David Ershon, and there is something peculiar in this case, that needs a high-profile investigation. And our mismatched guys can’t surely waste an opportunity to step up and join the top ten cops of the city. But would they be lucky in their attempts to reveal the true this time? That is a question.

Eleanor is a cashier, working at a local grocery store, who hopes to win the lottery one day. She is a wife of an abusive husband, whom she dreams to get rid of. When she knows, that she is pregnant, Eleanor’s will to run away from him becomes the only way to survive.

Galia and Eleanor, united by the common need to escape, decide to join forces and fight against their oppressors for freedom and hope for a better life in future.

 “Takers” is a great crime story from a filmmaker John Luessenhop. The film describes the art of bank robberies, skillfully performed by a group of specialists, perfect in this sort of crime.

The team of six criminals is terrorizing local banks and baffle the policemen. Their elaborate bank robberies make the officials just lift their hands in dismay. They work like a dream, any little detail is perfectly planned, any little moving is calculated, each member of the team knows his functions in their common business, and they seem to be impossible to be caught off guard. No evidence, no suspicions, no problems, everything works perfect by these guys.

The last goal of the criminals is the biggest robbery, they ever planned. The stakes are higher, than ever before, and they will have to do their best to succeed. But this time the guys have to face a very serious opponent, who is ready to destroy their dearest hopes and grandiose plans. Matt Dillon, starring as the detective, represents a real threat for the crew of bank robbers, and he is hell-bent for solving the case.

The team of Ross consists of loyal and brave warriors, ready to perform any dangerous task. Lee Christmas is a great expert in blades; Hale Caesar is a specialist in long-barrel weapons; Toll Road is skilled in explosives; Yin Yang is a combat master; and Gunnar Jensen is perfect in precision sniping.

But on their way the group of warriors faces unexpected difficulties, connected with the mission in question. They become the victims of deceit and betrayal. Destined to be used in this military operation as expendables (who are capable of being sacrificed, if military objective needs so to be accomplished), the mercenaries will have to fight for their lives and prove them to be a team, that couldn’t be destroyed so easily.

Centurion

The film events are dated AD 117. The main hero of this adventure drama is Quintus Dias, a Roman centurion. He is the only warrior who has survived after the Picts attacked a fort, situated on a Roman frontier. Together with the Ninth Legion, led by legendary General Vilrilus, Quintus goes his way to the North. Their mission is to wipe the Pict tribes and their leader Gorlacon off the face of the earth.

During the pitched battle against the Picts, the General of the Romans gets taken prisoner, and Quintus has to do everything possible to withstand the enemy’s onslaught and save his platoon alive behind their lines. The Roman soldiers make an attempt to rescue their leader and reach the Roman frontier – the only place, where they could be safe from their savage pursuers. At the same time the Picts are hell-bent to take revenge upon Romans for Gorlacon’s son, who has been killed during the battle.

“Centurion” offers the viewer great battle scenes set against a background of Scottish landscapes. The historical events of Roman Empire in times of invasion and conquest are shown in the film from scriptwriter and filmmaker Neil Marshall. The breathtaking thriller, directed by Phillip Noyce, presents incomparable Angelina Jolie in the role of CIA officer Salt. The scenario of the film is perfectly written by Kurt Wimmer in cooperation with Brian Helgeland.

The main hero has to do impossible to save his co-workers and his own life. But first he must find the killer of his boss and the reasons why he has been killed. The time is running, while The Fool is looking for the way out of the place. He will have to hurry up before the whole office explodes.

“Operation: Endgame” is directed by Fouad Mikati; the scenario of the film is written by Sam Levinson and Brian Watanabe. The Stranger

The hero has to run from his enemies, who track him down, but neither cruel torture nor flying bullets and betrayal can stop him. Step by step the man assembles the pieces of this terrible puzzle together. Those, who have stolen his memory and all of his life, become his target number one now. To wreak bloody vengeance upon his enemies is the only thing, the stranger dreams about. The poor amnesiac without identity and without future, he changes into a killing machine, ready to fight back.

Written by Quinn Scott and directed by Robert Lieberman, “The Stranger” represents a good mix of thriller with action, starring such brilliant actors as legendary Steve Austin, Adam Beach, Erica Cerra and John Tench.

The Karate Kid

The film by Harald Zwart, “Karate Kid” is a touching story of a teenage boy called Dre Parker, who is successful in karate in his twelve years. Played by Jaden Smith, the main hero is about to become a legend of karate in Detroit. But the circumstances are such that Dre has to forget about it soon. Due to his mother career, the boy has to leave US for China. New country with its culture and traditions, new school and new classmates appear in the life of Dre.

The boy gets acquainted with his mate Mei Ying, and their meeting initiated Dre into a new feeling called love. Soon it became evident, that his passion for Mei is mutual, but the friendship of such kind is under question because of cultural and other differences. Moreover Dre’s love to Mei causes deep-rooted hatred in Cheng, a well known squabble in his class. Dre’s karate appears to be nothing in comparison to his opponent’s skills in kung fu. To put Dre on the floor is an easy task for Cheng. Born in the country, where martial arts were the traditional part of the culture, Cheng represents a real threat to the karate kid and his relations with Mei.

Mr. Han, played by Jackie Chan, becomes the only friend and supporter of the boy in this strange country. He is eager to share his secret knowledge of kung fu with Dre, and he finds a good pupil in Parker.

Luckily the group of veterans succeeds to escape from the prison and move to Los Angeles, where they become mercenaries of all poor and suffering people, humiliated or offended this or that way. The oil magnates and laser technologies, involved in the plot, bring some new and special thrill to the old story.

The unforgettable sense of humor of Liam Neeson and Bradley Cooper, starring in the comedy as well as the other brilliant cast, promises the audience good timing and laughing.

The scenario of “The A-Team” is written by Michael Brandt, Stephen J. Cannell, Derek Haas and Skip Woods. The new version of the comedy is perfectly directed by Joe Carnahan. The original series of the film described the adventures of four Vietnam veterans and, as the director of the film says, they provided him a good material to work with in order to create a brand new comedy, full of exceptional humor and funny moments.
