The great mix of action, drama and comedy, “Wild Target” narrates about a routine job of a professional assassin, whose last mission fails due to his sudden feelings to a victim, whom he is supposed to kill.
The main hero of the film is Victor Maynard, a solitary killer. To his middle ages he has achieved a well-earned reputation for lethal efficiency. He is just the best in what he does, and he is proud about his unsurpassed skills as an assassin. The only thing that is not perfect in Victor’s life is his forced loneliness, as the job of this kind demands freedom from close relationships. Therefore he has neither a loving and caring wife, nor kids.
One day Victor gets a new task – to kill a woman called Rose, who is engaged in selling fake paintings. Having sold a forged painting of Rembrandt to one of the local bigwigs, she provoked his anger and became a target number one to be killed.
But as Victor, hired to kill Rose, knows her better, the unexpected passion arises between the two. Now he has to do impossible to save their lives and love.
The film is directed by Jonathan Lynn. Bill Nighy stars as Victor Maynard; Emily Blunt plays Rose; Rupert Everett appears in the role of Victor’s client.
